Laughter is good for you!

Laughter can help you stay healthy. Yes, believe it or not can. Anyone who knows me personally would think that I need to be the healthiest person on earth. But I am a firm believer in laughter and laugh at all – and certainly including myself. My hubby will go into the kitchen and hear me giggling at something. He asks me what I’m laughing – and it’s usually something silly that I have made. But, the thing is – laughter is good for you. Read on to find out why!

First of all, laughter relieves stress. Everyone knows how bad stress is for you. If you are going through a stressful situation – trying to find something that makes you laugh. Watch your favorite funny TV show, read something funny – not something that you know will make you laugh. This will help you perhaps do not forget about your situation – but will help you relieve some of the stress and keep it from building up to a critical point.

When you take a break and do something to bring a little humor in your life – you’ll feel much better. You will be able to deal with the situation and will have a little bounce in line when you can return to what you’re dealing with.

I am a runner – so I understand the endorphins that are produced when I run. Endorphins are what the mind produces that gives you a good sense of all – think “runner’s high”. Here is something that many do not know. Laughter can cause these endorphins, also. So, the more you laugh – the better you will find! It is one of the reasons people say that those who have a good sense of humor are healthier and happier.

Here’s another little-known fact about laughter. When you laugh, it sends a boost of oxygen to the brain. This extra oxygen will help you think better. Having a good laugh also helps to relax your mind. You know how your mind will think the job and keep you from other things – get a good laugh about something. It will help to clear up.

If you are dealing with a difficult situation with some – find something to laugh about them. It can break up the tension – and you can solve whatever it is better. And with a better sense of both than might have happened otherwise.
